Phosphorus, Calcium, Vitamin C. A real ‘health fruit’ with infinite organoleptic, low-calorie, water-balancing properties.
The Actinidia plant is a climbing shrub with large, deciduous leaves and short or long oval fruits.
The Verona kiwi (Hayward cultivar) has brown skin. It is a dioecious plant, i.e. it has male and female flowers on different plants that bloom in May/June. Harvesting takes place in October and November. The fruit has bright green flesh with small black seeds radiating around the centre. It is juicy, with a slightly sour yet sweet taste.
Italy has rapidly become the world's leading producer of kiwi fruit and the produce from Garda, Bardolino, Lazise, Peschiera del Garda, our own Valeggio, Bussolengo, Sommacampagna, Villafranca di Verona, Cavaion.
Known as the "fruit of health", it is rich in vitamin C (85 mg/100 g). The kiwi contains more vitamin C than citrus fruits such as lemons or oranges. This makes it useful for keeping the immune system in good working order.
