In 1969 the Stanghellini family created the Santa Lucia restaurant on the Morainic hills near the Mincio and since then, in a setting full of life and postcard views, it has offered refined dishes belonging to a traditional cuisine, linked to the territory. Handmade pasta and grilled meat main courses are the basic elements from which all the dishes that make up the menu are born, made with seasonal first fruits and a homely touch.
Among the homemade pastas, the engine of the attention that the world devotes to our country is certainly the Nodo d'Amore, the real tortellino of Valeggio sul Mincio, but in the offer ample space is also dedicated to flavors of the surrounding area, like the tortelloni with pumpkin from the Mantuan tradition, with celery from Verona, with ricotta and spinach or with radicchio and Monte V.se; tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and chanterelles; bigoli with duck.
The undisputed protagonists of the second courses are the strong flavors of grilled meat: ribs, Florentine and lamb. In particular, Santa Lucia, as a hamlet and as a restaurant, are famous for a typical dish, promoted right from the opening: the crunchy and tasty grilled chicken. All this, accompanied and followed respectively, by a wide selection of wines and desserts, can also be enjoyed, during the summer season, outdoors on an airy terrace.
