Just outside Valeggio, along the road that leads to Peschiera del Garda, is the Trattoria Bivio, also known as "la Ponta", which since the end of the 19th century was a reference point for travelers and locals, who in addition to an appetizing meal they found refreshment for their horses. Since the early 1970s, the Trattoria has been managed by the Gardoni family, which offers the typical specialties of Valeggio, cooked with love by Mara and Luigi.
Everything in the Trattoria is homemade, especially the stuffed pasta, among which the "Nodo d’Amore" stands out, the real tortellino from Valeggio, which can be tasted with butter and sage or in broth. Then pumpkin tortelli, with red radicchio, spinach, with porcini mushrooms; tagliatelle with duck, truffle, porcini mushrooms; bigoli al press; garganelli with red radicchio and pancetta; crepes and risotto ... but also tripe in broth or parmigiana, and noodles in broth with livers.
In the second courses, grilled specialties cooked in the large fireplace, but also pike in sauce and cod with polenta, roast kid, roasts, braised meats and mixed boiled and pearà on Sundays during the winter period. Game on request. The choice of side dishes is always wide. The desserts are of own production; from fruit in syrup (peaches and plums), to parfaits, tiramisu, meringue, panna cotta, rose cake with custard and many others.
