Continuing on the tour, having previously seen the parish church, the Municipio, Palazzo Guarienti and Villa Maffei-Sigurtà, we now come to Villa Gandini Zamboni, which is located on the side of the Monte Ogheri hill between Castello Scaligero and the historic centre of Valeggio.
A residential villa dating from the 18th century, it was designated for public use in 1929 by the late Giuseppe Zamboni who wished it to be an Infant School and has been owned by the Town Council ever since.
For many years, the Humus association which organises cultural events, concerts and film forums, has been based here. Several groups of locals have for some time been committed to restoring the villa to its former glory by means of guided tours, information stands and fundraising events (La Quarta Luna).
