2022 EDITION CANCELED
On the third Tuesday in June, on the Ponte Visconteobridge in Borghetto, the natural and architecturally stunning setting for the Festa del Nodo d'Amore is a highly-anticipated annual event: an open-air dinner for 3,300 people, seated at a table more than 1 km long to celebrate the Nodo d'Amore, the true Tortellino of Valeggio sul Mincio It is a combination of the great insight of master goldsmith Alberto Zucchetta, an honorary citizen of Valeggio, and the pas-sion of theRestaurateurs' Association. The Festival offers an irresistible mix of atmosphere and good food, both tradition and novelty.
Now in its 24th year, this record-breaking dinner is inspired by the story of the thwarted love between Silvia the nymph and Captain Malco, whose passion is symbolised by a lovingly knotted yellow silk cloth. This love knot is the inspiration for the 13 tons of handmade tortellini served at dinner on the historic bridge.
The menu is a celebration of the flavours and aromas of the Veronese agricultural and food sector and of the whole country. Each year, therefore, there are big surprises and novelties, giving space to various products which, because of their authenticity and taste, deserve a place in the recipes of the Valeggio restaurant owners.
The following will therefore be on the tables: Custoza DOC and Bardolino DOC, Prosecco DOCG wines from the hills between Verona and Lake Garda, the famous Grana Padano® and Monte Veronese DOP cheeses that in recent years has contributed to giving life to two delights: the "Silvia's Casket" together with potatoes and rosemary, and the "Tesoro di Malco" in combination with asparagus and extra virgin olive oil. But the surprises do not end here! At the close of the evening, thousands of flambeaux are lit accompanied by the sounds and colours of fireworks, amazing the spectators year after year.
The Restaurateurs' Association has been organising and managing this event for over 25 years with passion and dedication. The event is now of international importance and is the centre of a food, wine and hotel promotion plan for the area.
